Yeah, I'm still waitin' on the payment for the preliminary web site design I did for a NY firm about ten years ago. They gave the paying gig to someone's cousin, and stiffed me.
Yeah, watch the forums where cartoonists and illustrators hang out, and you'll always see people offering jobs with terms like "I can't afford to pay you, but you'll get great exposure."
Dammit, there was a website à la Cheezburger that was a compendium of things like this that I ran across a week or two ago, but now I can't for the life of me remember what it was called...
