Oh man, the very first album I bought was a Ventures album. I think it was "Walk Don't Run '64" . They always had an attractive gal on the cover, they look pretty quaint now.
Many pleasant memory cells triggered by this post, thanks!
Still have my 'Ventures in Space' and Telstar albums... Still love them.
I also have ALL of my Beach Boys albums, although I've transferred them to digital media ;-> Love them all. Brian Wilson was a musical genius up there with the very best of them.
Yep, good music!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I thought "That guy looks a lot like Peter Frampton."
ReplyDeleteTurns out, it is Peter Frampton.
Sounds better than the original version by The Chantay's!

The Ventures are gods in Japan. Their music was hugely influential. For an example, the "Chocobo Theme" from Final Fantasy VII.

Yes, Ventures in Space! Telstar! wow!
ReplyDeleteAll my albums got ruined by a flooded basement -- I just ordered the Ventures Christmas album though!
Ted, you should get a commission!
