I'd never thought to put horseradish in a bloody mary

Sounds pretty good, though.  And replacing the black pepper with Old Bay would be pretty good, too.

  1. I only rarely drink one but for as long as I can remember (my godmother always drank them when I was a kid) they have always contained horseradish. Horseradish goes good with an huge amount of things from sardines to hotdogs to liverwurst to spam to meat loaf, to fish dishes, to fowl, to salami sandwiches, to salads, to shrimp and crab, to ketchup (homemade cocktail sauce), to pork & beans, to fiery mixed drinks. It is one heck of a delicious item.

  3. BP,

Horseradish in a bloody mary is good. I recently had one made with jalapeno wine instead of vodka. To really jazz up the drink, add a strip of crispy hardwood smoked BACON.

  6. Usually I drink those when my guts are already a little iffy. I dunno. Horseradish is good, but I don't know if I'm up for living dangerously like that.
