An Atlanta teenager told his gang that he wanted to leave and go straight, becoming a law-abiding citizen. He survived after being shot 15 times. Now remember the mother who shot a Bad Guy who broke into her house and came looking for her and her kids?
His resignation was greeted with an onslaught of bullets Feb. 15. His so-called friends shot him 15 times and left him for dead, upholding the gang's harrowing motto: Stay in until you die.
The 19-year-old crawled through the street moaning. People rushed to his side to offer assistance and take him to the hospital. The good Samaritans are now in protective custody, reported MyFox Atlanta.
The young man underwent surgery and is now recovering, according to a relative.
A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday. She shot him five times. His reaction? He got into his car and drove away.
The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.
But the man eventually found the family.
Law abiding citizens in New York are going to die because after they empty their (reduced) magazines into the Bad Guy, the Bad Guy will get angry and kill them.
And aside from that... Imagine becoming the target of a mob like this:

I made a related point on my blog a few weeks ago:
ReplyDeleteI have a question for those who believe that I, as a free citizen, do not “need” firearm magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds:
Who, other than a criminal, is more likely to have armed backup readily available?
A. A law enforcement officer (hereafter LEO)
B. A free, private citizen
In the overwhelming majority of situations, the answer is A. Law enforcement officers rarely travel alone, and almost never travel without radio communication with their brethren and sistren in the force.
That being the case, why should free citizens be denied the standard-capacity magazines that LEO carry?
"If it saves just one (gangbanger's) life, it's worth it."
ReplyDeleteEven if it costs the lives of law-abiding gun owners. (Who cares about them anyway?)
If the lady in Georgia had to deal with two assailants, she and her kids would be screwed.
And it's probably too much to expect that the former gang member trying to go straight was shot by three-or-more people, all with less-than-seven rounds each. But wait: "Police say they arrested two people they suspect were part of the attack...."
Only two? Even assuming zero misses, someone's cheating!
This is my shocked face.
My.02 -- if the restrictions hold up, expect mass switching to .45 and bigger. After all, if I only get 7+1, I'll take every scrap of advantage I can get. The NY laws say nothing about revolvers, so expect more wheel guns. How about a .50 cal revolver? Holding 10 rounds? It's NY legal.
