She's the first Big Budget Female Singer in I don't know how many decades who's made real music. She's the real thing. I can't personally listen to much of it before all the estrogen starts to feel a bit suffocating, but that's neither here nor there. The craftsmanship is objectively superb, the arrangements are top notch, the recording is excellent - it sounds like real instrments! - and the songs have real hooks.
The critics may be baffled, but it's simple: She's giving the proles the same stuff I get from the New York Dolls. Actual, you know, music.
What a shame the poor girl's a f'in land whale. Ugh.
Wow- that last line was quite a non-sequitor. Anyway, yeah. Actually, that was very Bond appropriate, I think, hopefully the new movie is better than that last debacle. If the movie is as good as the theme, we may have something here.
Bond-appropriate and well done. Considering this is not based on an Ian Fleming book, AND, not written by John Barry, it's very good. +1 what Old NFO said!
It's quite good really... And I am not a fan of Adele. Personally, my vote would have gone to The Postmarks. Check out their track "No One Said This Would Be Easy" for serious Bond feel.

ReplyDeleteGood singing, and a real orchestra backing her!

It's good... [fanboy] but I still think they should have gone with the Muse proposal [/fanboy].
