Any of you who live near a Trader Joe's store, they have a sale on Vola Sangiovese for $2.99 a bottle. Sangiovese is the grape used to make Chianti; this is the same grape, but just not grown in the region where wine can be labeled "Chianti".
It's a very decent table wine to have with pizza and pasta, and it's simply unbeatable at that price. I don't think I could even brew my own beer for an equivalent cost per bottle.
Just wait until Italy leaves the Euro and devalues - this will be a buck.
Makes me wish we had a Traders Joe's near here, and Pennsylvania didn't have archaic beer/wine/spirits laws.
