Which Appleseed are you attending? I'll be at Fox Mountain in North West Georgia in May and may use the offer of free admission to a later event with a RWVA membership if you fail to qualify at your shoot some time in the fall.
Get your Garand now, while you can. Buy the very best you can possibly afford. Clean it, Grease it, care for it and you will have companion for life. And one that you will pass on to your children. I got mine 30 years ago from the DCM, '43 Springfield, not rebuilt. My son (a recovered Marine) will have it when they pry it from my cold dead hands - - - - or remove it from the nursing home. Of all the firearms I own, that Garand is and always has been the centerpiece of my working weapon armory. You will never regret spending your hard earned $ on YOUR Garand.
