You fight.
And in a just world, Government functionaries who use a rubber stamp to affix a Judge's signature on documents sending a SWAT team to take a child from her parents - those functionaries would be tarred and feathered.
Obey? I don't think so. You want my children? Come and get them.
This is infuriating. The functionaries involved should be sued into destitution, and then thrown into the Poor House.
This brings up a discussion that I have had many times: When is the state allowed to intervene for a child's well-being? Our laws are not clear cut at all.
ReplyDeletePrebirth, the law of the land is to allow the mother to kill the unborn child.
You oppose the court (as do I) ordering children to receive centrally acting drugs for ADD.
What about court ordered blood transfusions to children of a Jehovah's Witness?
What about court ordered care for a child who received a head injury from being drug down the street after her sleeve got caught in the door?
These are complex questions that have started more that a few discussions on when care can be forced on a child over the parent's objections.
Oh, good, I'm not the only one who thinks the answer to that question is "Open Fire".
