Thanks for the awards

A few folks have nominated be for the Liebster award.  I appreciate this, but must say that my posting has not been up to scratch lately - I seem terribly cranky and ranty, and sort of feel like I've lost a bit of my grounding.  Not a good feeling, at all.

And I do appreciate you guys who have sent this to me.  Clearly, I'm living on my old stuff, like an aged movie star.  The Blog didn't get little, it just got ranty.

Err, or something.

And so I feel that rather than putting up an award, I owe y'all an apology.  In future, I shall endeavor to do better.  Probably need to lay off the politics.  That stuff will make you blind if you drink much of it.

  1. Blog more gunnie stuff. You get to go to the range. You take pictures. Then you get talk about it to an audience.

Much better for the digestion than politics and climate change. Less acidic.

  2. Blog whatever the hell you want; it's your blog. Personally, I enjoy all of the content, whether it's politics, guns, or just stuff.

How about just blogging about it until you need glasses? (grin)

I know engineers are their own biggest critics. They always know what they could have done better. But what they don't see is that the rest of the world is grading them on a curve. If they've shed some light on a murky topic, made a muddled idea clearer, simplified a complex task, or just generally made something better, the world counts that as a win.

Enjoy your win. You may not think you deserve it, but it's not your call to make. The rest of us think you do.

  4. If you'll excuse me a moment: Bullshit.

Your blog is great. Your not 'up to scratch' posts are perfectly fine. There is more substance and depth in your posts than most other bloggers, and you are on a long streak (ever since I got here) of posting posts that are worthy reads.

Your posts are substantive and valuable.

  6. ASM826, yeah. Looks like I'll be getting a reloading press from Carteach0. Should give me LOTS of blog fodder.

But thanks, guys. I appreciate the comments here, and maybe I'm a little hard on myself. But I *have* been too ranty lately. Hopefully this is just a reflection of too much stress in my life; hopefully that will be winding down a bit in the next couple months.

  12. You're probably distracted over your 4-legged friend's health.

You've got friends here, BP. We support you and appreciate you and what you write and stand for... even when you're feeling not quite up-to-snuff.

If you need a bit of time, take it. We'll all be here for ya when you're ready to resume.
