I'm doing something right

#1 Son wanted me to pick up a sixpack, to have a beer with me.  Cool, I thought.  Pick it out, I said.

He'd seen the Superbowl commercials, and picked out Bud Light platinum.  No, that's not what I'm doing right.

He didn't like the beer - Almost tastes like water, he said.  Yup.  That's what I'm doing right.  Life's too short to drink bad beer.

  1. BRAVO!!! Exactly. I know people that drink Bud like it's water. I can't stand it.

I was still underage when I discovered the delight flavors of a Black & Tan at the Olney Ale House. Too bad that they started carding there right after that.

  4. Heh. Last year my fiancee (who's Canadian) and I went to visit my daughter and her husband. As we were leaving their house my fiancee noticed a couple boxes of empty Labatt Blue cans in the utility room. After we got in the car she said, "I'm sorry."

    "Sorry for what?"

"I'm sorry the kids drink Labatt Blue. You'd think the importer could find something better."

(Molson is not what she had in mind either.)

  5. @BP - You know I've wondered if we ever met out there. I worked at a certain three letter agency in MD in the mid-80's too.

  7. Next, you need to buy a big kettle and a couple carboys and tell him to get cracking.

  8. I'll admit it, I drink bad beer. PBR is mostly the only thing in the house, for years. I'd love to drink tasty local brews all the time, if I could get them for $14.99/cube. Cheap swill from the midwest? Check. Incidentally, I tried that Bud Lite Platinum at my cousin's house during the SB. It was about like I expected. Bud Lite with extra alcohol, but the same amount of flavor. Meh...

  10. Thanks for taking the hit for the team...their commercial almost fooled me into trying it to see if it was any different than normal Bud Light.
