I've felt for a few months that I've been increasingly ranty. Well going by the archives here, it seems that I'm not (well, if you trust the tag, anyway).
So my hypothesis is falsified by cold hard data. Still Mr. Sweetness and Light, I guess.
I wonder why the gap between my perception and reality?
Well, everyone's a little angry right now anyway. Maybe it's just positive reinforcement.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I hate CAPTCHA. Today's was "undaro ppeni." I leave it up to the reader to think of something inappropriate with it.
Your rants in the past have been instructive and sunny, the ones recently have been pessimistic and even bitter. You're feeling bloody-minded about the prospects for good news in November, imagining that there isn't any possible.
ReplyDeleteRants should convey how you are feeling at the moment. Yours always do that.
ReplyDeleteWe are all feeling ranty. Especially when we have to go out and deal with stupid people.
ReplyDelete2 words: Election season. It's enough to give Pollyanna thoughts of suicide.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say something like what TinCan said. Your angry about the fascists running for office. Therefore, your internal measurements say you're angry, therefore ranty. But the internal measurement, and the external output don't match...mostly because you're unreasonably civilized.
ReplyDelete"unreasonably civilized" - Aretae, you're making me blush. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't see you as a 'Ranter' BP. If I did you would not me on my list of preferred bloggers.
ReplyDeleteRant and snark have their place but if it is all you have - it gets boring fast.
I've learned a few things here and have genuinely enjoyed it. The only improvement I would offer is that you put out free food and booze for your more distinguished guests.
