Yeah...there was a point my senior year of high school when I weighed 167 pounds for wrestling. Now...imagine, slow gradual weight gain...just 5 pounds a year, and now 20 years later, HOLY MOLY...that 100 pounds more!
Not sure the whole 'old age and treachery' would make up for that.
Leaving Field Training at Plattsburgh AFB in 1990, one of the captains said "Enjoy how your body feels today; you will NEVER be in this good shape again in your life".
My 7 year old self could, too.

Yeah, we were just outside getting the little ones some exercise and I tried to run around a little playing soccer. Big mistake.

My 17-year old self wouldn't even bother to kick sand in my face...

ReplyDeleteI spent the summer before I turned 18 bucking bales for our neighbor. 100+ lb bales of hay all day long.
