INDIANAPOLIS -- A customer standing in line at an east side Indianapolis auto parts store shot a suspected armed robber demanding cash, police said. The would-be robber is, of course, a choir boy:
Investigators said John Perry fired his handgun and struck Carlos Ortiz, 21, in the leg at the Auto Zone in the 1100 block of North Arlington Avenue Saturday.
Saturday’s incident wasn’t Ortiz’s first run-in with the law. He was charged with robbery before in 2008, police said. But what really has me doing a face palm is the reaction of the customers:
Customer Sharon Mabeeward was in the store just prior to the robbery and had a hard time believing how Perry reacted.Sharon Mabeeward is as dumb as a rock. Good grief. What is it with yankees?
"(Perry) should have called the police. I don't think it’s right for people to carry all these guns. It's a crazy world," Mabreeward said.
It seems that no charges are being filed against our hero. For now.
I'm technically a Yankee (born in Ct.) but have lived in AZ most of my life (93%)
ReplyDeletePlease don't lump all of us together with idiots, like some folks do with Southerners. ;-)
Stupidity; is it nature, nurture or just a cruel joke played on us by aliens?
ReplyDelete"What is it with yankees?"
ReplyDeleteSomeday my home state will have gun laws as good as Hoosiers. (And as high a percentage of permit holders.)
Wanna bet I could have gotten that same quote from an Alpharetta hausfrau or some random Section 8 dweller on Ponce?
Oh, she gonna open up a can of snark on you :)
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a north v. south thing, it's more a city v. country thing. You should ask "what is it with city folk?" When you live in a state where they have to give you a carry permit for $100 with no training or testing, that never expires and allows you to carry your gun into a bar and drink, then you can ask "What is it with yankees?"
ReplyDeleteI guess I kicked the hornet's nest here. ;-)
ReplyDelete"all these guns". Heh. How many was he carrying? I'll bet it was just one. But there's a lesson in there for ya. Defend yourself. Leave the liberals to defend themselves.
ReplyDeleteNH carry permit is $10. Granted, it's only good for 4 years, but it takes a week to get, and you can carry anywhere up to and including the NH state house...
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'...
I had to double check and make sure this wasn't NY state.....
ReplyDeleteWhat a maroon. Big gasp that someone takes their own life and safety into their own hands.
