Blogroll additions

Life in 3D is written by a Navy veteran who's now into computer game design.  He's also a new father, and tells us what happens when you add one part infant, one part Grandmother, one part bouncy chair, and one part baby's favorite food.  Shake over ice, and garnish with a mess.  Heh.

Duke is blogging at Down Range Report, and brings some interesting news:
I stumbled across something I think most people don't know, ANY legal US resident is eligible to get a Florida Concealed Weapons Permit. This means even if you live in California, NY or any other state that is very restrictive on permits there is no excuse not to have a CCW permit.
Huh.  The number of things I simply did not know seems pretty big.

The snark is strong at LMAObama.  It's just about exactly what you'd expect: Every day is TheOnesDay™:

Old Glory First bills itself as "an experiment in collaborative idea sharing, mixed with open discussion."  Blogging seems somewhat sporadic there, so stop by and leave an encouraging comment.  Comments are like crack to bloggers, just sayin'.

West of the West blogs a lot about music (of the non-Country variety), but brings the turn of phrase in bushel basket loads: I saw a werewold drinking a pina colada in the mirror.  Heh.  Wonder if his hair was perfect.  Plus, the Wookie Suit di tutti Wookie Suits.  Double heh.

Welcome to the blogroll!

  1. Hm...so all you need is "proof" that you are competant with a firearm...wonder what that means?!?!??!?!

So I go to my local pistol range. shoot a bunch of holes in a paper target and send that to them?

Have the range master sign it?

Yeah, and like I'm going send you a paystub with my pay information and my address....rrrriiiiighhhht!

Oh well, may just do this to see if it works.

  4. Thanks Borepatch!

Yep, the great thing about Florida's CC is that if you have your CC permit but another state doesn't recognize it, they probably accept Florida's.

You do (or at least you USED to) have to go through a FL CC certification course and then they would send your stuff to the state, which would then send you the magic card.

  5. Steve, if you dig further into the site "proof" is apparently one of several forms or documents. I didn't dig into what they are though.
