I have to drive 40 minutes to get to a waffle house, but an IHOP is between my house and my son's daycare. Needless to say, he's been to IHOP more than Waffle House, and is one of his first choices to eat out at.
It might be the fact that they have decorated pancakes too.
Gotta make your own waffles. With Half-and-half + sour cream! With real maple syrup. In Waffle House, everything tastes like a greasy kitchen, because it's open 24/7 and doesn't get a thorough cleaning.
Have you done a side-by-side comparison. That might convince them. There's nothing like covered, smothered, chunked, and peppered hash browns with a true Waffle House waffle.
In the South, no road trip should start without a stop at the Waffle House.
Waffle House is teh awesome. It's a study in how to make 160 breakfasts with about 3 ingredients. IHOP: pancakes, sure. But Waffle House nails it with variety and the free hats they give to the kids.
I'm gonna have to look for a Waffle House around here. There's only one IHOP in town here, and the service and the food was crappy the last couple of times we ate there.
Heh...
ReplyDeleteWe have neither around here.
Plus only one even likes waffles!!
Your fine.....
I don't even know what a Waffle House is.

The only Waffle Houses I have seen look like prime hobo havens.
ReplyDeleteYours must be different than ours.
AWFUL house? Err, I mean Waffle house? YUK. Blech. Farkaktah Drek !!! I once got sick from Awful House iced tea.
ReplyDeleteIHOP - only marginally better.

It's a great place to get breakfast before going hunting or after going out drinking. And they have the best hash browns!
ReplyDeleteAt least they didn't want McBreakfast.

It's a kid thing - all those syrups and such. Hopefully they'll grow out of it ;-)

ReplyDeleteSell them into slavery and start over.
