Wynonna needs little introduction here. Three platinum albums, 20 singles on the charts, plus another 14 number 1 singles with her Mom make her one of the most successful women in Country Music is the last 20 years.
No One Else On Earth (Songwriters: Jill Colluci, Stewart Harris, Sam Lorber)
I've been a rock and I've got my fencesMe, I like her attitude, which is "Screw you, I am what I am". For me, nothing captures that like her song, Girls With Guitars. Lord, have mercy ....
I never let them down
When it comes to love I keep my senses
I don't get kicked around
I shivered once you broke into my soul
The damage is done now
I'm outta control
How did you get to me
No one else on earth
Could ever hurt me
Break my heart the way you do
No one else on earth
Was ever worth it
No one could love me like
No one could love me like you
You can make me want you
Any time you want to
You're burning me alive
I can't deny you
Even when I catch you
Weaving a weak alibi
Cause when the night falls
You make me forget
Your love is killing me
And it ain't over yet
How did you get to me
No one else on earth
Could ever hurt me
Break my heart the way you do
No one else on earth
Was ever worth it
No one could love me like
No one could love me like you
I shivered once you broke into my soul
The damage is done now
I'm outta control
How did you get to me
No one else on earth
Could ever hurt me
Break my heart the way you do
No one else on earth
Was ever worth it
No one could love me like
No one could love me like you
No one else on earth
Could ever hurt me
Break my heart the way you do
No one else on earth
Was ever worth it
No one could love me like
No one could love me like you
No one else on earth
Was ever worth it
No one could love me like
No one like you
No one like you
Sort of like Cher. Love her or hate her, it doesn't bother her. Us, we love her.

I just think it's appropriate that your video has Miranda Lambert's picture out there as the screen cap...she is my current #1 girl in country music, both for her singing and HER attitude. Of course, being a cutie never hurts...
ReplyDeleteAnd you hit my absolute favorite Wynonna song.
ReplyDeleteFive or six years ago, when I started listening to more country, it seemed like this was the direction rock was going when rap took over. The "crossover" country is blending more and more rock sounds into it. Of course there's more blending of hip hop in there, too (Big and Rich; Cowboy Troy - even Toby Keith did that "I Wanna Talk About Me", which was very rap-influenced).
And, of course, everyone knows the blending of country and rap is called "crap". Just kidding, I like some of it.
Greg, we also very much like Mrs. Shelton. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGraybeard, I like some Cowboy Troy, but it's pretty clearly as an oddity.
