The New York Times published dozens and dozens of breathless stories about how CIA operative Valerie Plame was "outed" during the Bush (Jr.) administration. Story after hyperventilating story about a rogue, out of control political hijacking of the government agencies, with payback for the poor, professional workers who bravely resist the Dark Powers.
Or something.
Strange how, when nobody died during that episode, and the only person convicted (Scooter Libby) wasn't the one who outed Plame, the narrative still deserved front page, above the fold, shrieking headlines.
Operation Fast And Furious? Not so much. Hundreds dead, likely perjury before Congressional Investigations, and a complete stonewalling by a Justice Department seemingly hijacked for political purposes, with payback for professional government workers who resist the Dark Powers?
Funny, it seems to be entirely different. [rolls eyes]
Seriously, will the last person laid off by the last media organization please turn off the lights? Dumb as a bag of hammers, right there. And a helpful note to Progressives: the best evidence of media bias isn't what's published - it's what isn't published. And the best evidence that you're not very smart is that you need to learn this from me. Love, Borepatch.
"And the best evidence that you're not very smart is that you need to learn this from me."
ReplyDeleteYep. What you said.
The best evidence that they are smart is that they are still getting away with it. They don't need you to tell them anything.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there's samizdat around the edges now, and sometimes it even breaks the surface. That's cause for guarded optimism. But right now, as we speak, they're still winning pretty much everywhere. It's not even the end of the beginning yet.
It's just a little too soon to congratulate ourselves for having won already.
Too busy getting on Roger Clemens for lying to politicians
ReplyDeleteBut..but Caycee Anthony sells better.
ReplyDeleteNo one gives a shit about hundreds of dead messicans and a coupla guys on our side..right?
