Wie sagen sie ...

"He needed killing" auf deutsch?

It seems it's a trick question.  You can't say that auf deutsch.  I'm not sure if this is a Good Thing or a Bad Thing.

Or if it will last.

  2. "Er nehmst todt machen." I think. My German is severely rusty. Now that I think about it more, that's probably the wrong tense.

Oh, wait. You meant that it was not PERMISSIBLE to say it in German. 6 million Jews would probably agree.

  3. I didn't think it was possible to be any more uptight than the politically correct American left. I guess this shows that I was wrong - even their "conservatives" are worse. Europe, sheesh...

  4. LeverAction: No, Europe is the center of the liberal universe. The American Left is trying very, very hard to be like them, but the fact that they're still Americans means they get snubbed by the Euro Elite no matter how hard they try.

It's kind of like trying to get a seat at the popular kids' lunch table in high school. If you have to try, you don't qualify.

  5. Jeez, we don't want to incite them now do we? Why if we do that, they might fly planes into buildings, cut reporter's heads off, blow up ships and buildings.

Better to try to appease them, because we all know how well that works.

  6. "Killing" has an umlaut - Der is He.

  8. You could say "Es freut mich" in response to the news which I suspect is what Merkel said. "Gott Sie Dank" also comes to mind.
My German's also rusty, but I'm pretty sure "Yeah boys, get some, good on ya!" doesn't translate very well.
