The interesting question becomes whether the GOP will, petulantly, scuttle the chances of ejecting BHO rather than fall in behind a potential Palin candidacy. In other words, will the commitment to the traditional, broken, Ruling Class way be stronger in the GOP than the desire to, you know, live up to the party’s ideals? What I find most useful about Sarah Palin's political impact is that it causes people to voluntarily sort themselves into the "Elite Bastards" and "Everybody Else" categories. If she were to get elected President, this is likely to be her greatest gift to the Republic.
The fact that this question even forms in the mind is why I’m pleased not to be a registered Republican.

Quote of the Day - GOP establishment are idiots edition
This is just about pitch perfect:
> What I find most useful about Sarah Palin's political impact is that it causes people to voluntarily sort themselves into the "Elite Bastards" and "Everybody Else"
ReplyDeleteWonderfully said.
I like Palin. I don't love her. ...but waiting till someone says that they HATE her is great - it says a lot mroe about them than about Palin.
Oh, I expect the GOP Establishment to go right ahead and Nominate RINO Romney, and Go Down in Flames, and lose some Senate Seats along the Way. Then when one of the so-called Conservative Justices and/or Kennedy at SCOTUS dies or retires during Barry's Second Term, then the DemiCommies will put up some UberLiberal Judge, and those Idiots from New England (Snowe, Collins and Brown), plus a few more like McCain will "Reach across the Aisle in the Spirit of Bipartisanship" and give the Anointed One his Rubber Stamp, just like Chavez and Putin have. All due to the fact that the Modern Republitard Party HATES the American Peasants, er People. How DARE those Tea Part Types try to lecture those Harvard/Yale Elites on how to run the Country! Who do they think they are, that UpStart Actor named Reagan?
ReplyDeleteSince the media is owned by the left, whomever the mediacracy says is someone the administration is afraid of (latest was Mitch Daniels) is the exact opposite of whom we should be looking at closely. They always tell the stupid party whom to nominate that way. The fact they make such an extreme mockery of Palin means we should be looking at her seriously.
ReplyDeleteDo I think she's the best candidate in the field? Probably not. But as TJIC says, the mere fact that the elites get their panties twisted over Palin makes me like her. Same thing with Rand Paul and Michelle Bachmann. Mr. Inside the Elite Circle himself, Carl Rove, said Palin doesn't believe the rules apply to her. Kudos to her for that.
That said, there's always the chance that the last election might have been The Last Election. War game it out. Currency collapse. Civil unrest. Blood in the streets. Circle the tanks around the White House and declare a State of Emergency. Elections suspended until the country is "back on its feet".
WV: palunsay - seriously - what does palunsay about we're saying about her?
What I find most useful about Sarah Palin's political impact is that it causes people to voluntarily sort themselves into the "Elite Bastards" and "Everybody Else" categories.
ReplyDeleteNo, that there is the Quote o' the Day.
And so many people just can't get it....
Amen!
ReplyDelete"What I find most useful about Sarah Palin's political impact is that it causes people to voluntarily sort themselves into the "Elite Bastards" and "Everybody Else" categories."
ReplyDeleteAmen. Also, they tend to sort themselves into the "I believe in the Constitution" and the "Morality Police" categories.
Sarah Palin proved herself to me when she vetoed a bill she supported because she believed it violated Alaska's Constitution. In this age where "I believe it's unconstitutional, but I'll vote for it anyway and let the courts sort it out" is accepted behaviour for politicians, that one act by itself makes her more acceptable to me than any of the other professional politicians in the field right now.
I am concerned that Palin has had such a tough audience. Its a tough act to keep up when you are disparaged by the crowd.
ReplyDeleteIts the kind of strain that can't lead to good things.
Nevertheless, what the world needs now is Palin. The USA will fail without her or someone like her.
With it being a busy weekend I haven't had time to look at her voting record, so I may have this wrong. But as I understand it, Michelle Bachmann voted FOR renewal of the invasive, anti 4th Amendment statutes that were just renewed this week in the Patriot Act. If so, that's a major turn off for me.
ReplyDeleteBut as I understand it, Michelle Bachmann voted FOR renewal of the invasive, anti 4th Amendment statutes that were just renewed this week in the Patriot Act.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, that seems to be true.
It also appears to be true of Allen West.
Well crap.
