In springtime, young men's thoughts will turn to ...
Baseball.
When we lived in the Washington DC suburbs, we read the Washington Post. I wasn't a big fan of their sports columnist Thomas Boswell, but his Why Time Begins On Opening Day is a must-read for any baseball fan.
You're in a NL state now BP. That means Baseball in the purist tradition. No DH! Besides, the Braves are a pretty good club this year. Not the World Champion Giants of course but a nice little ball club :)
ps: I dogged the Red Sox in my Baseball post. No offense.
You can let them go. They are part of your old life.
ReplyDeleteGo Braves!
I'm not a big sports fan. You heard of 'sports widows'? I was a 'sports orphan'. But, I'll probably hunt up 'It Happens Every Spring', and watch that.
