The [U.K.] National Health Service is today condemned over its inhumane treatment of elderly patients in an official report that finds hospitals are failing to meet “even the most basic standards of care” for the over-65s.And who are the dastardly neo-con lying liars who say this? Sarah Palin perhaps? Nope, it's the UK Government:
Ann Abraham, who as [UK Government] health ombudsman carries out independent investigation of complaints against the health service, said: “The findings of my investigations reveal an attitude – both personal and institutional – which fails to recognise the humanity and individuality of the people concerned and to respond to them with sensitivity, compassion and professionalism.Ann Abraham is clearly a liar. Progressives by definition are kinder, smarter, and in every way superior human beings. Government Employees are honorary Progressives. So they can't possibly fail to recognize the humanity of patients. Q.E.D.
Silly Ombudsman, didn't they know that they were supposed to take the Blue Pill?A study of pensioners who suffered appalling treatment at the hands of doctors and nurses says that half were not given enough to eat or drink. One family member said the maltreatment amounted to “euthanasia”.
Some were left unwashed or in soiled clothes, while others were forgotten after being sent home or given the wrong medication.
In several cases considered by the Health Service Ombudsman, patients died without loved ones by their sides because of the “casual indifference” of staff and their “bewildering disregard” for people’s needs.
Notice the failure of the NHS here. By their own admission, it wasn't cost cutting (the Red Pill vs. the Blue Pill). It was an institutionalized want of basic humanity, that didn't give food or water to elderly patients. And not to one or two patients. Half of them.
It's health care provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles. It's Obama's Transformational Agenda in action - more critical services provided by the Government, and only by the Government.
Can every Progressive who (a) wanted national health care and (b) wants us to be "more like Europe" please shut up and take a seat in the back? Let the Grown Ups handle things.
I worked as a contracator in London for a while in my 20's. During that time a small cut on my arm became badly infected. I had to see a local doctor, paying in cash, but at least I could see one. I waited a week, as it got worse. Then hours and hours to see him, even with the appointment made. Once in he grunted, stabbed it with a sharp instrument (without pain relief) to release the pus, dabbed it with what I think was just pure rubbing alcohol to sterilze and put three stiches in it, also without pain reliever and sent me on my way. It was a horrendous experience that left a noticeable scar. My treatment was simply the treatment everyone gets and stories of people pulling their own teeth because you can't get a dentist are well known.
