UPDATE 26 February 2011 14:16: Boy, was that fun. A huge thank you to reader Erich, for a totally enjoyable morning at the range.  Range reports as I can get to them, but in a nutshell: the Chiapa Rhino is a very interesting revolver to shoot, and I think I may be in love with the Ruger P90.

  1. i like my chiappa rhino, but i think it could use a little trigger work. single action it is nice and smooth, though working the hammer to get it to single action can be a challenge!

FWIW, the trigger on mine is pretty nice - very smooth and not all that heavy. cheers, erich martell

  4. The P90 is our home defense weapon. I keep eying it; it looks like so much fun. But me getting out to the range would require a baby-sitter, so...

  5. I carried a P85 and later a P90 as a duty gun throughout most of the nineties. Nothing wrong with them that a little shaving, trimming and weight reduction won't fix. Hmmm, kinda like me come to think about it.

  6. I love my P90, yes. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Buy one. Hell, buy two, one for you and one for the missus; it's relatively cheap, stone-cold reliable and built like a damn TANK.

  7. The Rhino reminds me of an "updated" Mateba, a gun I'd *really* like to have, but they're scare as hen's teeth.
Maybe I'll look into a Rhino, _IF_ they're "California Approved".
