Savor the irony of that green "peace". Then head over and read the comments, where all but one (!) quite properly take the blogger to the woodshed for a thorough spanking. Then ponder the further irony of the following quotes at the top of the page:If you're one of those who have spent their lives undermining progressive climate legislation, bankrolling junk science, fueling spurious debates around false solutions, and cattle-prodding democratically-elected governments into submission, then hear this:
We know who you are. We know where you live. We know where you work.
Gene from Greenpeace India is known around the Greenpeace world for stating his opinion loud and clear, and not being a diplomat.Full marks for the "not being a diplomat" part, Gene. But now compare with this right below it:
I am closing the comments for now - a decision that may or may not be changed in the future. I apologize to the people who came here for honest discussion about Greenpeace's tactics.Err, no marks at all for the "stating his opinion loud and clear" part, at least for your readers.
Really, this is all a bit boring, but can I just say that if Gene fancied to call him self "Gene from India, Commander-In-Chief of the 1st Subtropical Irregular Militia", he would expect some quality time with the Obama Administration's F.B.I.?
Most pathetically of all is Julliet, who seems to be the comment moderator, trying to convince everybody that Gene wasn't being violent. As a full service blog, let me offer her a suggestion for Gene: Jack 'n' Zac: a Prozac with a Jack Daniels chaser.
No need to thank me, it's all part of the service.

ReplyDeleteTo paraphrase Sheriff Brody:
He's gonna need a bigger boat.
Somebody must have slipped a little red meat in with his tofu.
ReplyDeleteWell, don't know 'bout anyone else, but I'm scared. I think this ranks up with James Cameron calling for pistols at twenty paces in the "liberals not thinking" category.
ReplyDeleteA cemetery is a green and peaceful place, it's what I always think of when I think of Greenpeace - because they basically want all people dead and off the planet.
ReplyDeleteDirtCrashr,
ReplyDeleteA grave's a fine and private place,
but none I think do there embrace.
Yup.
