What I find most astounding is how Democrats have passed up an opportunity to both reform health care and remain in a strong position by doing this with a more scaled-down, piece-by-piece process. The best thing the Democrats could do at this point is take the Republicans’ advice and hit the reset button. These bills are so toxic and so loaded down with nonsense that the American people will be outraged if they pass. Why not start over, bring Republicans on board for commonsense items like tort reform, and come out with a political victory and some change to the system? We shall see whether Chicago Rules the rest of the country, or vice versa.
Democrats have proven that they are their own worst enemies these last few months.
P.S. The Corner webmasters have to ditch the popup ads for the Census that play sound (sound? srlsy? In a pop-up???).
Many of the Dems suffer from Obamalusional Disorder, and there's a higher frequency of infection the higher you go up the chain of command.
ReplyDeleteO.D. makes them believe that disregarding the clear wishes of their constituents in regards to this crap-bomb of a bill is the "right" thing to do. It's the same disorder that makes Obama push for a simple majority vote in reconciliation, even though he repeatedly decried such tactics as a senator. His own words:
Under The Rules, The Reconciliation Process Does Not Permit That Debate. Reconciliation Is Therefore The Wrong Place For Policy Changes ... In Short, The Reconciliation Process Appears To Have Lost Its Proper Meaning. A Vehicle Designed For Deficit Reduction And Fiscal Responsibility Has Been Hijacked...”
Oh... and regarding sound in a pop up: I hate that too. I browse the news early in the morning while I drink my coffee and become human on work days. Nothing like having an unexpected shouting or musical ad rip through the house at 5am.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just Chicago Rules. It's Socialist Rules. The Bitch Princess and her fascisti don't want a sensible bill. They want a bill that is guaranteed to fail, and to fail in a way that makes single-payer health care inevitable. They know that repeal is all-but-impossible, so they think that if they can win just this once, the die will be cast and the US will be socialist forever ... or at least until our debt crushes us in a decade or so.
ReplyDeleteBarry Lackwit has just barely enough sense to figure out that his fortunes are tied to those of the Bitch Princess and Red Harry Reid. So he's supporting their bill, even despite the polls.
(pop-up ads at The Corner? Since when?)
Pop-ups?
ReplyDeleteFirefox+AdBlock plus=haven't had pop up problems in years.
