The Great Global Warming Swindle

A couple years back, an excellent documentary was shown in the UK, The Great Global Warming Swindle. Edge has the video. This is very, very well done. The producers interviewed leading scientists for this - guys like John Christy (who essentially created the satellite temperature record - you know, the one without all those mysterious "adjustments") and MITatmospheric physicist Richard Lindzen (who looked for - and could not find - the troposphere warming predicted by warming models).

This is excellent, accessible stuff. Kudos to Edge on this discovery.

UPDATE 6 January 2010 21:15: One last note. At the end of part 8 of this on Youtube, the following is the first comment on the documentary's harsh criticism of environmentalists who want to condemn the Third World to poverty by denying them the opportunity to develop. Reproduced in its entirety:

ITS CALLED POLLUTION!! Jesus the fucking africans cant govern themselves as people, much less control power plants and other obsolete technology, it took the west long enough to realise the issues with development, IE pollution, so we dont want the rest of these 3rd world nations to fuck it all up again. Acid rain, water pollution,air pollution, it will contribute to MORE overpopulation if these places have a warm house to fuck in, thats all they'll do!
