The BBC absolutely grills the head of the UK Meteorological Office

"Grill" is actually too soft a term for the unrelenting hostility to the Met Office's forecasts. The BBC's Andrew Nell repeatedly demands that the Met Office head John Hirst justify his performance bonus. This is the first I've seen in the Mastodon Main Stream Media where the tone is so accusatory.
(Note: The BBC doesn't have an embed option; this will take you to their site, but it's worth the journey.)

I would say that Mr. Hirst is absolutely shameless. He comes as close as you can to outright lying, which may have increased the hostility from Nell. Now if we could just get the American media to interview Michael Mann and company like this.

Well done to the BBC for a well prepared and pointed interview where they did their best to get accountability from a government employee. Filed under "biased media" because credit where it's due, and all that.

Hat tip: The Air Vent.

  1. I listen to the BBC on the radio on occasion. I think their reporters, in general, are more aggressive in their manner. I love that most of the time. It can be annoying when they are clearly on the wrong side of an issue, though. Some of them can be just as agenda driven as US reporters can be.

  2. Paladin, the BBC is horribly biased. That's why this clip was such a shock. Not even the BBC will put up with this nonsense any more.
