Patch your Adobe

I'm shockwaved - Shockwaved - to find gambling security bugs in Adobe Shockwave, installed on something like eleventy zillion computers*:
Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.1.601 and earlier versions. The vulnerabilities could allow an attacker, who successfully exploits the vulnerabilities, to run malicious code on the affected system. Adobe has provided a solution for the reported vulnerabilities. It is recommended that users update their installations using the instructions provided below.
"Run malicious code" is what the Bad Guys are trying to do ...

Shockware is everywhere, and it runs in your browser (yes, your browser), it's cross-platform (Mac users are vulnerable, too; no word on Linux, but if Mac is in, Linux likely is as well).

Getcher patches here.

* Actually 400 million, give or take 50 million or so.

  1. There is no Shockwave for Linux, fortunately - or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it. Flash is all we get.
