"How to prevent leaks" document leaked to Wikileaks

Heh:

The Defence Manual of Security is intended to help MoD, armed forces and intelligence personnel maintain information security in the face of hackers, journalists, foreign spies and others.

But the 2,400-page restricted document has found its way on to Wikileaks, a website that publishes anonymous leaks of sensitive information from organisations including governments, corporations and religions.

Leaked from the Ministry of Inevitability, no doubt. Remember, three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

  2. Honestly, given it's in the UK, someone probably left a copy on a commuter train with "Top Secret" stamped across the folder.

  3. Tangalore, only if you have a really, really hot cup of tea ...

Grumpy Student, you're absolutely spot on. My point (kind of glossed over in my haste to snark) was that this kind of thing happens all the time. Processes and Procedures rely on humans, and from the crooked timber that is man nothing straight was ever built.
