#2 Son and I have been looking forward to shooting with nephew Daniel, back from a tour in Iraq. His mother was interested in shooting, so it was a double win. Then nephew Dan's father, so it looked like we had a day made of win.
We went over the four rules of gun safety, although I also introduced Greg Morris' Rule Five, which I think is simply an outstanding idea with a new shooter. Then we saddled up and headed to the Scottsdale Gun Club range.
It was packed. I'm not a member, since it's a long drive to go shooting here if you live in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. We put our names on the list, then had a leisurely lunch, and we still weren't anywhere near the top of the list. So we reset to a different day. Oh, bother.
So, mission not accomplished.
Wow-Win! Very cool, and such a nice club - we need more upscale representation like that to attract women and defeat the anti-gun snobs.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. Mrs. TOTWTYTR has no interest, but my daughter and my son do. At some point, I'm going to sign her up for a woman oriented basic safety course.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that just amazed me was that just north of Phoenix, there is a state run shooting range. That's a public range, not some sooper sekrit police only one. Imagine that here in the PRM.
Sorry you're not going to be at the NEBM tomorrow, but you'll be having a good time nonetheless.
Dude, you know I live here, and I'm a member. I would have got you in no problem.
ReplyDeleteNext time you want to shoot down here let me know. I'll take care of you.
DirtCrashr, I wonder if this is a market opportunity?
ReplyDeleteTOTWTYTR, nephew Dan goes there. We'll probably try it out. And I hate that I'm missing the NEBM tomorrow, but next time for sure.
Chris, thanks. I'd love to take you up on that.
It sure the hell looks like a market niche that's going unfilled!
