Happy Birthday, #2 Son

The candles spell out thirteen, in case you couldn't tell.

Now I always thought that kids born near the end of the year got a bum deal - their birthday is so close to the holidays, that all their presents come in one big chunk. The size of the chunk may be such that they just don't get as many birthday presents. So we celebrate "Half Birthday" in June - all the presents well away from the holidays, so nobody loses count.

And cake is always a good idea.

But now #2 Son is a teenager. Yikes.

  1. I worked with a fellow that had six boys. ALL born in December. When the last one was born, with Mom age 41 and the next oldest 15 years old, she said "next March I'm not even TALKING to my husband."

  2. Heh.

We just had a fun exchange over in Breda's comments related to this, from the other side of the gender divide.

  3. My daughter's birthday is December 25. The only good thing is that she always has her birthday off. Since she was little it was Chinese food and movies on her birthday. That's probably why she hates Chinese food.

Now we just celebrate it on December 26, which is Mrs. TOTWTYTR's birthday. Being a teacher, SHE never has to work either.

  4. Wow, TOTWTYTR. Wow.

That has got to be one of the most astonishing coincidences I've run across in some time.

Makes me feel better for #2 Son, too.
