See Dad. See Dad ride a Harley.

Ride, Dad, ride!  Glad you took off your necktie when you got home from work.  And your wingtips have a heel, so they're, errr, "approved" footwear. But it's 1958, and so who needs a helmet or eye protection?  After all, Mom took out a big Insurance policy when you got the bike, right?

Dayum, that's a lot of text in that advert.  From Dad's Vintage Ads, which is aweome.

Heh. I had a '58 panhead, but it wasn't exactly, err, stock.
Biker days...

Well, that's from back when Harley riders could read. (grin)

But for all the Harley bashing I do, I confess I'd probably try to get one of the older ones like that if it wouldn't cost me an arm, two legs, and my teeth. 'Course that last crack about Harley riders will probably cost me my teeth anyway. This is one time I'm glad JayG's moving farther away.

I bought a '63 with newspaper route money. In 1967 I was 15 ... the bike was such a bucket! But I learned about fixing EVERYTHING. I also learned the value of owning tools.

Dave H: the newer Harleys ain't too bad either. I'd like my carb back, but I've managed to tune my EFI just the way I like it. And, yes, you DO have control over AFR.

You'll find that most Harley riders will forgive you for your ignorance. Very few of us are 1%ers. And we recognize and tolerate RUBs and NOOBs when we see them... even if we do laugh behind their backs... :-)
