This guy's neighbors must have really gotten him annoyed

But I love the description on Youtube:
Give a redneck some Christmas lights and he'll string up his house. Give the same man an engineering degree from Ga. Tech as well and this is what you get...
Don't mess with them Tech boys, Son.  They can get purty mean.

I hope you have a swift and uneventful trip!

I wonder what the folks who do things like that do inside the house while the show is on...

Nice show, but "Wizards in Winter" is getting a little old. I'd like to see a set of lights synced to "Immigrant Song" some time.

Juggle chainsaws or re-enact "The Most Dangerous Game"

Agree with Dave H, they need to 1) find a new song to sync the lights to, and 2) actually sync the lights so that the bass line activates certain lights, mid-range others, and so on. As entertaining as the light shows could be, the strobe effect is just annoying.

That being said, I lack the creativity to even string lights let alone sync them to any kind of soundtrack, so my hat is off to them.

Down the block from my grandmother's house is a cul-de-sac that gets everyone involved and syncs the lights to a soundtrack they broadcast using an AM signal. Any donations received from the display goes to the local homeless shelter.

http://pharrschristmas.com/ does something like this, only he has 4 or 5 neighbors putting up lights too, for one giant unified display, with about a quarter million lights. He says it costs him a couple hundred dollars a month for the electricity; he has a playlist of about 10 songs that're synchronized pretty well, playing on FRS, so there's no noise to (additionally) bother the neighbors.

The FAQ page has some interesting numbers.
