Put them outside, they'll just come back in!

that's why when I set out to make a spider dead, I confirm that kill!

Overall tho, they're a self correcting problem. They eat stuff I don't like...when they eat all that stuff they eat other spiders. Nothing left to eat? Problem solved!

Double tap, Weer'd. Anything worth squashing is worth squashing twice.

i stick all the spiders i find in the basement - we have far too many cave crickets, and they're good eatin' for a spider.

Down here in the Southland I am with abnormalist.

Those brown recluse spiders are QUITE common. If you haven't seen one yet, put out a few traps in your pantry, under the stove, under the sink... You'll catch one.

They make a nasty wound. They love bedclothes. Kinda like scorpions, only our (Texas) scorpions only sting, very little venom. I get nailed from time to time as the seasons change.

The upside is that toads eat them. The downside is that toads need moisture to survive. Tough in a drought.

Have you been up to Best of the West range? If not, give it a try - nice folks. Great outdoor range! Liberty Hill. A hike from the People's Republic of Austin, but is a nice drive.

Captain, I haven't. Maybe a blogshoot sometime?

I have to say that I like Lone Star in Lockhart. only 100 yard rifle range, but the attitude there is relaxed. They let me shoot Bart Simpson, after all. ;-)
