When Col. Sanders went to Moscow

Col. Sanders opened two restaurants in Moscow in the 1960s.  The KGB shut them down soon afterwards.  It seems that it caused a sensation.

Pirogi must not be finger licking good.

Hm. Wasn't Col. Sanders one of the 99% that worked his way into the 1%?

There used to be a Pizza Hut / KFC about two blocks from the Russian parliament building in Moscow. It was always packed.

In Soviet Russia, the chicken fries you!

My wife remembers the opening of the first McDonalds in Moscow in 1990. It was quite a sensation when it opened and quite expensive. She never got a chance to go, emigrating soon after it opened.
