It's back

So the Vice President of the United States says that the Tea Party are terrorists.

The sound of backpedaling started almost immediately.  But the problem for Slow Joe Biden is that this isn't the first time it's happened on his watch.

For those who've forgotten, here's what I said back then, in the heady days of the new administration:

That would be me:
Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.
If you hadn't heard, that's from a Report by the Department of Homeland Security. The bold text is the bit that describes me.

You see, it's a fair cop.

Once again, I seem to be described by this Administration as a terrorist.  What's interesting is that today it's happening in the midst of a full-blown panic by the "No Drama Obama" crowd.  Back then, it was when everything was going their way.

I'm wondering what the circumstances would have to be such that they didn't call me a terrorist.  And oh by the way, whatever happened to "How dare you question my patriotism?"

There's some dissent that needs some stifling, now that The Right People™ are in power.  But you'd be more convincing if your husband didn't do precisely that.

Anyway, if you're looking for a terrorist, you can find one here.

UPDATE 2 August 2011 11:18: Paladin has a simply outstanding suggestion.

If they keep calling us terrorists, someone is liable to believe them. Then either some nut on the right will actually try to become one or some nut on the left will preemptively try to "protect" himself from right wing "terrorists".

I guess I'm one of those 'terrorists' at least according to DHS, white, blue eyes, Christian, gun lover, retired military...
