One Trillion Dollars Bytes

My first hard disk was a 5 MB removable. This was majorly cool, because everyone else in the office was using 360K floppy disks.

Today we installed the Chez Borepatch backup server, with 1 TB. We'll finally be able to share the music that the four of us have spread across our computers. By beaming it through the air.

Sometimes it's pretty easy to get jaded and lose perspective. This is pretty danged cool.

Yes it is awesome. The massive amounts of memory and storage available on modern computers is something that the old schoolers never could have dreamed of.

The only drawback from my perspective is the fact that it encourages people to code application with no regards to efficiency.
