Every time someone tries to convince me that human burning of carbon-based fuels is the direct cause of global warming, I reply with the following --> "Please explain for me how human activity is causing polar ice caps on MARS to shrink." Get's 'em all to at least stop and think . . . a task more difficult for some than others.
Having said that, carbon based pollution is known to cause and/or aggrevate many other problems such as respiratory conditions like asthma. I'm in favor of reducing or eliminating carbon-based fuels, but not for the same reason as the greenies.
