Armadillos are one of the few animals beside man to contract leprosy. I once wrote a parody of "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" called "Larry the Leperdillo."
Ah, but in Texas, you'll also find Robert Earl Keen, who has written and sings a a song about the armadillo. You can here a few seconds of it
