So how's that Oz gun control working out for you?

A year ago, the Oz.Gov forced hundreds of thousands of its citizens to turn in their guns. So violent crime much have plummeted, right?

Err, no.
The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
Seems that the criminal element missed the memo. Didn't see that coming.

Look, love you guys down under, but sheesh. This ain't rocket science, guys.

Oh, and while you're over there at Wirecutter's place, the post immediately after the one linked to here is pretty darn funny.

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

The only stats I need to know.
